A 2024 Virtual Exhibition
Artist Project Preview- A Virtual Exhibition is an exclusive early presentation for members of my Collectors Circle, and enthusiasts interested in the release of my new work. The included works are an ongoing study of paintings which explore various forms of division in our society, reflections, colour exploration and the relationship between people and paper. All work in this exhibition are pieces that have taken me on a personal journey and were made over the past two years. All works are available and will be updated when sold. Price list follows the exhibition.

Intention
Paper is a vessel for communication, directing emotion, thoughts, values, knowledge. Crumpled, discarded or particularly arranged, with or without markings, a piece of paper has been created and influenced by its handler. Its form, whether it be in a state of decoration or destruction, carries the history of a human’s hand, their ideas, intentions and failures. Paper exists for the purpose of manipulation. Each page contains evidence of human intention, my work explores this relationship.

Process
There are no found objects within this body of work. Utilising traditional still life techniques such as lighting, proximity and composition, I create maquette paper sculptures to be interpreted through paint. Patterns, text, and images appear on the paper, the histories of which are for the viewer to interpret, investigate, or create.

Creation
Creation is a multi-step process. Any pattern or text present is imagined and then created by the the Artist. Pieces such as Reinforced Energy (seen here), begin as a diagram notation in a sketchbook. I develop sketches and expand on the idea until I feel that it has reached the intended outcome. Next, a still life is created and photographed for reference material. The painting process itself explores the photographic reference while allowing the physical characteristics of the paint to play with light, texture and colour.
